The village of Blagaj is located 12 km and could be reached by car or bus. However, this isn’t your Balkan village. The main attraction here is that the awesome Tekija, a wooden construction huddled into a niche carved from an imposing cliff, situated on the seas of the Buna river. The scene is absolutely magnificent! Tekija was once a Dervish monastery. Though still used for worship, visitors can stop by the prayer rooms, bath, kitchen and hammam (Turkish bath). It was developed in the 1500s and has architectural components of Victorian and Ottoman style. As it is the Buna River’s birthplace blagaj is unique. The water of the Buna bursts from a spring from the cliff with considerable force. To appreciate the spring, then have a coffee at the restaurant across the Tekija Dervish complicated. WATCH VIDEO
